Sure you would. Who wouldn’t? Here’s what I look like without a head. Dancing.

Okay, look, I know I’m not standardly pretty or anything, but cutting off my head? Is that really necessary??

I shot this campaign last October for the Jackson Hewitt company. This is a standup cut out that you can pose with inside the Jackson Hewitt offices. So, go get your picture taken as me this tax season. I kid you not!

It was a seriously fun shoot. Despite the fact that the studio wasn’t air conditioned and I basically danced for eight hours straight, drenched in sweat, it was some of the most fun I’ve had on a job. (Anyone who knows me well, knows how much I like to dance. I’m shamelessly good at it, too. So there. A heavenly job for me. Worth the 5000 calories I burned that day.)

And such a small world! I’d seen and loved this wonderful little independent film called One Too Many Mornings a year or so ago and one the actresses, Tina Kapoosis, also booked this job. I recognized her instantly (we’d actually met at the screening) and got a chance to get to know her that day. Lovely gal. Highly recommend you check out their film, which played at Sundance in 2010. Good stuff.

And that’s Kevin Murry dancing with me. A Chicago actor. Thanks to photoshop...you can’t see how incredibly sweaty we are. Thanks for the dance, Kev!

NDA! NDA! NDA!

So I haven’t posted an update for awhile because, well, despite tons of work, I’m not allowed to talk about most of it until it is released!

You have no idea how hard this is to resist. I have a headless photo of me from an upcoming national campaign that I am DYING to share. Not because they chopped off my head (it’s not a gruesome dying shot) but just because THEY CHOPPED OFF MY HEAD! It’s honestly the funniest, creepiest picture of me ever. (It will all make more sense when I can post about it, so bear with me.)

So for now, please enjoy this picture from my trailer on a recent shoot. Ohh. Ahh. (I know. Fascinating, isn’t it?)

In all honesty, I’m celebrating a really wonderful year: A very full year of being a working actress, some creative leaps as a writer, even a couple short film projects that I produced and directed. (Shot a series of six tiny short films that aren’t ready to be released yet, but you will see soon. Oh, yes. Even I forgot I was up to this along with these other gigs. B.U.S.Y.)

You will hear no complaints out of me as I am happy with all the hard work and blessed. More thorough and proper updates will come as the projects roll out. Thanks for your patience. And as always, thanks for checking up on me.

Cowboys and Aliens - The Sequel

So, over the course of two (and a half) days in late July, my man and I co-wrote and produced the sequel to the summer flopbuster Cowboys & Aliens.

The above is the final product!

Honestly, we had so much fun and worked with such a great group of people. It was a TON of work (due to post production issues), but with the help of our feisty, super talented, young DP and post-production mad man, Matt Macar...we persevered through Mercury being in retrograde and can now bring you this life changing comedy short for your viewing pleasure. ;-)

Oh and my latest commercial is running! I love when I get text messages from my mom that she’s excitedly just seen me on tv. Really. That never gets old.

Hey, that’s not me!

Been super busy producing a short comedy project. These are two of my lead actors. I have a small role myself. We’re proud of it. You’ll see it soon.

That, along with auditions and on-air work and I’ve had hardly a minute. Shot a commercial the other night. It was an overnight shoot, which means we had lunch at 2am. That was fun. And odd!

I was released just before dawn and they were still going strong.

Can’t tell you anything about it, but watch for me on the boob tube in Los Angeles in Chicago.

Back in the Saddle!

Been a very full couple months, hence the delay in posting an update. Mostly, I was traveling! Took a jaunt to South America to spend time with my family down there and it was a wonderful trip.

My Grey’s Anatomy episode aired while I was there! That was fun. The episode was very well received and I got lots of wonderful feedback from so many people.

Thank you to everyone who watched!

When I returned to the States, I was contacted by some filmmakers who are doing prep on their new project. They asked me to portray the lead character in a series of photos that they will be using to drum up interest in the film.

I was honored. The project is called Ojala and it is a BEAUTIFUL script. I was very touched by it.

Without giving away any details of the story, I hope you can catch me on the Season 7 Finale of “Grey’s Anatomy”, May 19th on ABC.

Check your local listings, but 9 EST/8 Central.

Working on this show was pure joy, with an amazing crew, director and some wonderful actors. I’m really looking forward to seeing the episode.

What an exciting week!

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a gorgeous Spring.

Above, you can see I am definitely loving the Springtime air. Actually, that’s me celebrating after a very full, wonderful week of working with some fantastic people.

I booked a small but great gig on on a television show this week and spent a couple days and long hours with some very talented people. It’s a bit hard to describe the feeling of dozens of people working in collaboration to create small, but moving moments that make up our part of the episode. I REALLY hope it translates in the final edit.

Air date is in May and I will post again before then so you can see it!

For now....keeping mum on the details.

Miracle Whip!

Yay!! Finally, I can post about the commercial I shot in January.

I swear, part of the reason that I got that job was because I truly loved Miracle Whip as a kid. Still do. But as a kid, it was part of my everyday sandwich eating life. So, it was very fun to be cast in their commercial campaign about people who either love or hate it. I happen to actually love it. So, this was a blast. Loved director, cast and crew, too.

Happy NEW YEAR!!

K’ well, it’s not exactly the new year JUST yet, but I’m already celebrating it. Starting off with a bang!

Got a wonderful Xmas gift when my manager called me the week before Christmas to tell me I had booked a role on the series finale of the t.v. show Medium (airs January 21 on CBS).

It was a big surprise since I had auditioned a couple weeks before and assumed they had shot it already (t.v. casting is pretty fast). It was an even bigger surprise to realize I was in the series finale of this much loved show, AND part of the final moments with Patricia Arquette in her last scene.

I must have been good this year. Thanks, Santa!

I have to say it was such a great experience on set. The cast and crew - most of them had been working together for over six years. They were very professional and also very nice. I tried to lay low since it was the last day of shooting for the two leads together and a big day for everyone on set.

But they treated me like a regular, honestly. I just focused and did my job, but, in truth, was honored to be a part of that day...which of course was an emotional last one.

Watch for my episode, the final episode, of Medium on January 21, 2011 on CBS.

Well, it’s that time of year again...

Ya know, I was thinking...wow, I have no idea if anyone ever reads this stuff that I post on my website. That thought was pretty funny to me. And I post anyway!

I post, therefore, I am.

Happy Holidays! Not even winter yet and are freezing our tootsies in Los Angeles. Finally broke down and turned on the heat after not doing so for at least one winter before this. (Uh, remember my last post where it was 113 degrees in early Fall. End times, my friends, end times.)

So, here’s a little picture I took to brighten your day with holiday cheer!

I loved this crazy “snowy” scene with the ill-placed power strip. Perhaps, I shall put this on all my holiday cards, if I even get around to sending them out!

I’m having a great time balancing many auditions and callbacks with the writing of my screenplay and web series (not to mention broadcast work). The larger project has been a compelling challenge to me and I actually think this is the easy part right now...the typing of the script. The Gods might strike me down for that one, as there are challenges at every stage. But right now, I’m just enjoying looking at my notes and thinking...”oh, yes...just type that”; the hardest work already done in tandem with my writing coach over three months.

Yes. three months. Serious dedication is what it takes. Now, if I can only make the time to pound out that last web series script. (Looking forward to shooting that after the new year and after my screenplay is finished.)

Loving my team at Studio Talent Group. It takes a village to build a career.

Please, have a wonderful and safe holiday season and a great entry to the new year. For me, 2011 holds some serious magic ahead.

Well, howdy do, snickeroo!

Whew! Been super busy, but wanted to take a quick moment to post.

Happy little me has been busy busy getting a lot of ducks in order as I work with my new talent management team at Studio Talent Group. New pics, new meetings and jumping back into class.

Phil Brock, who runs STG, has a fantastic staff. Not to mention, he is well known for working with great actors. So needless to say, honored to be part of that group.

Meanwhile, I’ve been taking a great class with Judy Kain and Francene Selkirk AND writing, writing, writing.

Scripts are almost finished for the upcoming web series, so you will probably see that first. Though, I am very caught up in the story you will see after that. Obsessed really. :-)

It was 113 degrees in Los Angeles yesterday! The hottest day ever recorded. Keeping it chill and drinking my electrolytes. I suggest you do the same.
